Behind Every Product Lies a Beautiful Local Story!
Stefano Faita
Stefano Faita's background is rooted in family cooking, passed down by his mother Elena Faita and his grandmother, who owned Dante Hardware in Montreal's Little Italy. He began working at the family's cooking school, Mezza Luna, before opening his first restaurant, Impasto, in 2013 with his friend and partner Michele Forgione.
His career has developed through television, publishing books, opening more restaurants, and launching a line of Italian food products.
For Stefano Faita, cooking is more than just a passion: it's a family affair. He learned to cook from childhood with his grandmother and his mother, Elena, founder of the Mezza Luna cooking school, located next door to the famous Dante Hardware store in Montreal. The Faita family values homemade cooking, notably through tomato canning workshops at the Jean-Talon Market. It was from this tradition, with hands deep in tomato sauce, that the idea was born to create a line of authentic, unadulterated tomato sauces inspired by Italian family recipes.
It all started with an observation: it was difficult to find a real Italian tomato sauce like the one cooked at home in grocery stores, that had to change!
Stefano and Michele then decided to recreate the sauces of their childhood, those simmered by their mothers and served to all the small and large tables.
The result? Sauces made in Quebec from whole Italian tomatoes ripened under the Campanian sun in the San Marzano region, near Naples. Always without preservatives, added water or sugar, and with extra virgin olive oil—in short, simple, authentic sauces prepared with top-quality ingredients.
